The new generation rechargeable head torch Fenix HM61R Amber offers a light output of up to 1600 lumens (ANSI) of neutral white light (4500 K) with a beam distance of up to 162 metres. It is also equipped with red Everlight LEDs. It is powered by a single rechargeable Li-ion 18650 battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which charges directly in the torch via a magnetic connector; in an emergency, two disposable CR123A lithium batteries can also be used for power. The battery additionally has a built-in USB-C connector, so it can be easily charged outside the torch without a magnetic cable. The control button has a built-in indicator LED, so you will always know when to charge the battery. The torch head is magnetic, so it can be easily attached to anything made of iron. The HM61R has eight lighting modes that allow you to choose between high power and long runtime (up to 400 hours). The torch is powered by digitally regulated constant current to ensure consistent light output even as battery voltage decreases (during gradual discharge).

All-metal construction ensures high durability, optimal cooling and is fully waterproof to the IP68 standard to a depth of 2 metres underwater. The practicality of the head torch is enhanced by the ability to remove the light from the head mount and use it as a pocket or work torch. Additionally, the head torch is fitted with a removable steel clip, so you can easily attach it to a pocket or strap. HM61R Amber V2.0 version is specially adapted for the Czech and Slovak market and differs from the standard version in the following points

• The supplied battery is equipped with its own USB-C connector.
• The diode has a neutral light shade instead of cold.
• High mode has a power output of 400 lumens. Runtime in high mode has thus been extended compared to the standard HM61R V2.0 version.
• Stronger red light has a maximum power output of up to 10 lumens.
• Memory for the last red light mode.
• When unlocked, it switches on to white light.

All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use

From the factory, there may be a black insulating cover inside the torch on the battery. Remove it from the battery before first use.

• The switched-off torch switches on to the last used white light mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds (except the highest 1600 lumen mode, when it switches on in 400 lumen mode).
• The switched-off torch switches on to the last used red light mode by double-tapping the button.
• The switched-on torch switches off by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.

When the torch is switched on, you can cycle through power modes in order by short button presses: 5 – 50 – 150 – 400 – 1600 lumens (when switched on to white light) or red 1 lumen – red 10 lumens – red strobe (when switched on to red light). The torch has memory and will always switch on in the last set mode (applies to both white and red light, except the highest 1600 lumen mode, when it switches on in 400 lumen mode).

Switching between colours: When the torch is switched on, you can switch between white and red light by holding the side button for 1.2 seconds.

Battery charge status indication: When the torch is switched off, one short button press will switch on the battery charge status indication for 3 seconds, which is displayed by coloured button backlighting:

• Constant green: 100% – 85%
• Green strobe: 85% – 50%
• Constant red: 50% – 25%
• Red strobe: 25% and below (charge the torch as soon as possible).

The indication works correctly only with a rechargeable 18650 battery.

Overheat protection: When using the torch on high power modes for extended periods, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the torch reaches a temperature of 65 °C or higher, it automatically reduces power to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 65 °C, it then allows the user to select high modes again.

Charging: Connect the charging cable to a computer USB connector, mains USB adapter or car adapter. Attach the cable to the charging pad on the torch; it will attach itself using magnets. During charging, the button indicator lights red; when charging is complete, it lights green. During charging, all red light modes and all white light modes except the highest can be used, but the charging time will be extended accordingly. Charging a fully discharged Fenix ARB-L18-3400U V2.0 battery takes approximately 4 hours.

Low battery warning: When battery voltage drops below the set level, the torch automatically switches to lower power modes. If this happens at low power, the battery charge status indicator will flash to remind you to charge or replace the battery in time. Note: This function is active only with a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 battery.

Locking the torch against accidental switch-on: When the torch is switched off, press and hold the side switch for 3 seconds; the torch will flash four times in red mode to signal the locked state.
Unlocking: When the torch is locked, press the switch for 3 seconds; the torch will flash red four times and activate Eco mode white light. When the torch is locked, pressing or briefly pressing the switches will cause it to flash four times, indicating the locked state. Accidental switch-on in luggage can also be prevented by loosening the battery cover of the torch by a quarter turn, which breaks the electrical contact and prevents the torch from switching on.

Warning

• Do not disassemble the sealed part in the torch head yourself; this will void the warranty.
• If using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to charge them in the torch.
• If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
• If the torch flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • Battery is almost discharged – charge it or replace it.
  • Contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
  • The rear of the torch is loose – tighten it.
