One belt to hold it all
The Forester belt is designed so that you can comfortably carry bushcraft gear while in the woods. A special mounting system on the loops holds everything firmly, nothing shifts.
It complements the Helikon-Tex range with another carrying system meant for bushcraft enthusiasts. The Forester belt has one feature in common with a tactical belt: you wear it over the outer layer of clothing. In bushcraft it replaces a bag, or even a small backpack. It does not occupy your hands and does not restrict movement while walking through the forest. Using the loops you can attach forest accessories to the Forester belt, for example the SERE pouch, the Water Canteen pouch or the Compass/Survival pouch. Together they make a comfortable set for lovers of bushcraft.
A belt with a turbulent history
The origin of the Forester bushcraft belt goes back to the 1950s and the armed conflict in Malaya. At that time SAS soldiers used nylon webbing with clamping buckles as equipment belts, obtained from the straps securing loads dropped by parachute.
Over time most British special units (SAS, SBS), the marines and paratroopers began to use the same solutions. A belt with a roll pin buckle was much better than the standard solutions. It had simple adjustment and adapted to the user's body. More complicated was the STABO evacuation harness from the Vietnam War era and its predecessor, the McGuire harness. It consisted of suspenders with a belt sewn from nylon parachute webbing with clamping buckles close to the British ones. Pieces of gear were attached to the belt: ammunition pouches, water canteens, grenades and the like.
