Husky Bret 2 from the Extreme Lite range is a free-standing double-wall tent with an internal aluminium frame, and its biggest strength is stability — you can rely on it in tougher conditions too. It weighs 3.1 kg and packs down to just 40 × 15 cm.

Stability in a compact package

The narrow 150 × 300 cm footprint and 120 cm height leave the tent little surface for the wind to push against. The 8.5 mm aluminium poles and lightweight aluminium pegs keep it stable even in bad weather, and the free-standing frame lets you pitch it where pegs are hard to drive in. The small vestibule in front of the entrance takes shoes and small items of gear.

Ripstop polyester with a 6,000 mm water column

The 210T ripstop polyester flysheet has a polyurethane coating with a 6,000 mm H₂O water column and taped seams; the ripstop grid stops any tear before it spreads. The breathable 190T nylon inner tent with mosquito mesh keeps air moving, and the 190T polyester groundsheet with a PU coating has a 10,000 mm H₂O water column.

Pros and cons of the Husky Bret 2

✓ Pros: high stability at a low weight, a small packed size of 40 × 15 cm, taped seams and a 6,000 mm water column, a free-standing frame, complete accessories in the package.

✗ Cons: the vestibule is small — not enough for bulky gear, the 150 cm width is tight for two adults, the 120 cm height does not let you stand up, and it is not built for winter conditions.
