A dog that you lower on a rope, that parachutes with you or moves through difficult terrain needs gear you can rely on as much as your own belay. The K9 Thorn Cordura tactical harness was developed in cooperation with police dog handlers and special forces soldiers. It serves for parachute jumps, rope transport or difficult terrain, protects the dog from injury and is also suitable for normal everyday wear.
Security when working at height
V-rings with a strength of 20 kN are designed for suspending the dog during rope transport. If you need to lead the dog clipped to yourself in difficult terrain, use the sewn-on D-rings. Further D-rings at the sides carry straps that relieve the hind legs during rope transport – these straps come with the harness. The harness fastens with Cobra buckles from the renowned Austrian brand Austrialpin, known for its climbing and extreme sports equipment. The buckles withstand 9 kN before breaking and 18 kN in a loop; their body is made of 7075 aluminium, the pins and clamping bar of stainless steel and the clamps of brass.
Comfortable for your dog, quick for you
The frame is made of waterproof Cordura fabric – a textured polyamide that is several times stronger than standard nylon while remaining light, and dries quickly. It is lined underneath with spacer mesh, which makes the harness more breathable and comfortable. The load-bearing Pa6 polyamide straps are medium stiff, 2.2 mm thick and have a strength of 20 kN (2000 kg). The design distributes the load evenly over the dog's entire body, the dog moves without restriction, and you can put the harness on and take it off in no time. Additional gear can be attached to the MOLLE system.
