A reliable source of sparks for lighting a fire should be in every backpack and emergency kit. The MFH fire starter consists of a ferro rod and a striker joined by a cord, so you won't lose the striker. You can strike sparks even when the fire starter gets damp – just wipe it off.
A spark for tinder and firelighters
Run the striker along the rod and a spark of up to approximately 3,500 °C ignites tinder, dry grass or a firelighter. The rod is approximately 6.5 cm long with a diameter of 9.5 mm, and the whole fire starter measures around 9.5 cm.
