The MA-1 has been worn for decades and still looks current. Vintage Industries Westford MA1 keeps the original proportions — nylon satin, rib-knit waistband and cuffs, a sleeve pocket. The light padding warms in spring and autumn and the water-repellent finish handles drizzle. The slim fit keeps the silhouette tidy.
Insulation
The padding holds warmth even at low temperatures, yet does not restrict movement and leaves room for a sweatshirt underneath. Standing still in the cold it warms just as reliably as when walking, so you do not have to take the jacket off every time the pace changes.
Heavy satin
The satin weave gives the fabric a smooth, softly lustrous surface together with high density, so the material keeps its shape and resists abrasion. It feels kinder to the touch than coarse canvas, yet gives nothing away in durability.
